CULTURAL VALUES in professional environments

Objectives:
- explore values connected to life-goals and career
- practise self-reflection through values systems
- explore how values influence behavior in a professional environment
This rushing and ever-changing world leaves little time for one to reflect on why one follows one path of life and not another, why one happens to be where one stands concerning life stages, career, or life goals. There is a mostly hidden, unacknowledged influencing power, however, that un- or subconsciously directs one’s decisions. Values are formed through life experiences, education and learning, mostly very early on, so they stay unnoticed until one finds oneself in a controversial situation.
This workshop intends to provide the time and opportunity for participants to learn about the theory of value systems and their differences across professional environments and cultures. Through reflective small group and pair work, participants have the opportunity to take a look at their personal and professional values, and how those might (not) align with their work experiences, conflict management strategies and long-term life goals.

- managing emotions
Keywords:
