Behavior Science in Tech – 2025 edition

This lecture will introduce students to basic behavior science principles and a sample of analytical tools to apply to the fundamental desire to affect human behavior, for which the technology we have today can be a massive lever. It will illustrate behavior science analysis and its impact via real life case studies from UX design to complex interventions to building successful business models to scale. The discussion will include the complication of introducing AI either as a human behavior influencing tool or a new relational subject. Furthermore, given that they are trained on human data, we will ask if psychological techniques that work on humans can be used to persuade AI.
