From basics to expertise: Solving climate change risks challenges with MATLAB
In this 3-hours workshop, you will tackle one of the many recent challenges related to the negative impact of environmental changes on assets, economies, and communities. You will use MATLAB, a numeric computing environment fully available at Budapest BME. Regardless of your expertise in computational software tools, you will acquire strategic skills crucial for your future career development.
Floodings, hurricanes, droughts, and new policies are becoming more frequent due to the rapidly changing climate. Consequently, the financial world is increasingly interested in modelling the frequency, severity and impact of these events. It is paramount for scientists to be capable of acquiring and managing large volume of data, visualizing complex data, developing models that simulate and assess the impact of physical climate risks on financial assets across multiple scenarios, and sharing clear and understandable outcomes through visualizations and reports that can integrate seamlessly with existing risk management frameworks.
This is not rocket science! MATLAB is an ease of access and ease of use environment with low-code capabilities which will demonstrate that you do not need to be an expert in programming to solve complex problems.
At the end of the workshop MathWorks and SciEngineer (MathWorks’ official partner in Hungary) will share with you a certificate of participation.
